8. The Doctor Will Influence Robin Hood Episode 3
The Doctor and his companions meeting historical figures and becoming involved in established events has become such a tradition for Doctor Who that its practically a cliché. In the space of just six years of his lives; the Doctor has inspired William Shakespeare, destroyed Pompeii, and caused the Watergate scandal. And since the Doctor becoming a part of established history was a staple of Classic Who, its almost a certainty that Mark Gatiss will include it somewhere in Episode 3 when the Doctor and Clara find themselves battling robots in Sherwood Forest. He is after all the man who made the Tardis hostile action displacement system a part of Cold War (2013) after only a single reference to it forty-five years before. So the theory on Robin Hood is that he will initially be a much more reserved figure, still with good intentions though lacking in confidence and skill. But the presence of the Doctor, Clara, and the episodes alien intervention will set off a chain of events that unite the Merry Men and gives Robin Hood cause to step up and become the legendary figure we know him as. Alternatively, where Robin Hood fails, the Doctor or Clara could step in to preserve history; carrying out some of his most famous deeds themselves and spreading the word about the heroic outlaw. And possibly give him a few archery lessons.
