As well as subtly setting up River Songs conception, the final scene of The Big Bang (it doesnt have that title for nothing) immediately sets the Doctor, Amy, and Rory up for a new adventure involving an Egyptian goddess loose on the Orient Express in space. After hanging up the phone, the Doctor immediately set off to resolve the issue. Or did he? Although this unseen adventure never being mentioned again isnt a sure-fire assertion that it hasnt happened yet, one of Steven Moffats teasers about Episode 8 ("the Doctor is finally catching up on his phone calls") and the rumoured title of Mummy On The Orient Express sets the impression that the Egyptian goddess is something the Doctor still needs to get round to sorting out. Since the phone call about the goddess came after she escaped from the Obelisk she was imprisoned in, it looks like this will be an instance where the Doctor arrives on the scene after the crisis has already begun; leading to a race against time scenario as the goddess starts picking off the passengers one-by-one. If nothing else, a train is the perfect setting for a base-under-siege story. Or perhaps it's a story with an atypical timeline like The Crimson Horror where we'll see the passengers try to survive by themselves until the Doctor arrives.
