12 Doctor Who Actors Who Died In 2023

2. Paul O'Grady

Though his scene in Doctor Who was all too brief, Paul O'Grady's impact on UK television was almost as large as the universe itself. His career spanned decades, ranging from quiz shows to hosting his talk show, to supporting animal rescue centres across the UK.

While his inclusion here may seem a bit cheeky - he filmed a cameo for the Tenth Doctor episode The Stolen Earth - he was a staple of British television at the time. His work with animals, in particular, was infamous, adopting several dogs in the hopes of giving them a better life.

At times controversial, he was unashamed and unafraid of speaking his mind. He was a fierce supporter of LGBTAQIA+ rights and vocally opposed Vladimir Putin after the Russian law against 'promoting' homosexuality to children was drafted. He suffered three heart attacks in his life, working each one into his comedy routines after the fact.

O'Grady died in March 2023, at 67 years of age.
