8. How Did The Silence Destroy The TARDIS?

With how being the operative word. It's a mystery that was intriguingly and excitingly set-up.

We had River Song exclaiming: "Someone else is flying it. An external force. I've lost control." And then the Doctor said: "Space and time isn't safe yet. The TARDIS exploded for a reason. Something drew the TARDIS to this particular date, and blew it up. Why? And why now? The Silence, whatever it is, is still out there."

We know the when - 26 June 2010. We know who the Silence are, and that they and the Kovarian Chapter were responsible for blowing up the TARDIS. We know why they did it - to try to stop the Doctor from ever reaching Trenzalore.

If we discovered how the precious TARDIS was obliterated - especially when thinking of The Doctor's Wife episode - we'd probably end up losing our minds like poor old Vincent did. Although it was an awesome sight of the stars spectacularly exploding at the end of The Pandorica Opens.

Naturally, there are plenty of theories on this. Maybe the Silence have actually told us but we've just forgotten, naturally.

The name's Colbourn, James - yeah, doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
