12 Doctor Who Filming Images You Need To See

2. Is It A Bird?

Doctor Who Filming Trafalgar Square Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's the Doctor! Doctor Who marked its 50th anniversary back in 2013 and it definitely wasn't going to go about quietly. Two icons of Britain were brought together on 9th April 2013 as filming for the landmark special, The Day of the Doctor, took place slap bang in the middle of Trafalgar Square in London. The Doctor clinging on to the TARDIS for dear life as it's lowered from the sky on a huge crane was always going to catch the attention of an eagle-eyed passerby or two and in no time at all there was a huge crowd of onlookers who watched the action unfold (and unfold, and unfold again - that's TV for you!) with baited breath. The scene in question made for one of the Doctor's most dramatic and memorable stunts in history. He sure does know how to make an entrance, doesn't he?
