5. A Rare Step Outside Of Paddy's Pub

This is just a quick entry, but it’s unlikely many people noticed that there wasn’t a single episode of the show that didn’t feature a scene in Paddy’s Pub until Season Five.

The episode in question is titled Mac and Dennis Break Up and is the ninth in the season. The set-up is that while at Dee’s apartment, she points out how dependent Mac and Dennis are on each other. This leads to the pair splitting from each other in order to try different living arrangements. The scenes are mostly set within the various apartments owned by Mac, Dennis, Dee, Charlie and Frank, with the climactic scene taking place in a restaurant.

There have been various episodes that venture from Paddy’s since, including The Gang Hits The Slopes, taking place on “Party Mountain” and the previously mentioned The Gang Goes To Hell which is all set on a cruise ship.

It’s not a total oddity for an episode not to include Paddy’s, but it is odd that it took them five years to get there. Then again, why would you want to leave the pub?
