12 Things Doctor Who Has Taught You Better Than Your Parents
12. Bananas Are A Good Source Of Potassium
When droning, blanched gas masked zombies are roaming throughout the darkened hallways of an abandoned hospital, disguised by the helpless, inquisitive voice of a frightened child... well, anyone would go bananas. It seems very much so that the Doctor has lost his mind when he warns Jack to not drop the second guest star of this episode, an inexplicable banana. Why? Because it's a good source of potassium. Even at this trying hour, when tensions are high and the exits are blockaded by legions of monsters begging for their mummies, the Doctor finds a spare moment to dictate a health lesson. Never mind the zombies. Just remember to consume an adequate portion of fruits and vegetables daily, obtaining the six essential minerals, especially potassium. Excellent nutritional value and an abundant supply of bright enthusiasm is the best way to combat a formidable throng of persistent foes, after all. Listen to your Doctor, kids. When there's a zombie apocalypse, you need to keep your priorities straight.
Anna is an aspiring writer who has an incurable obsession with Doctor Who. When she is not writing about Doctor Who, she's watching favorite episodes and contemplating what to write next. When she's writing about Doctor Who, she anticipates her reward: watching yet another Doctor Who episode. She also manages to read science fiction (especially Ray Bradbury), recite lines from Shakespeare's Macbeth, and make terrible puns in her free time (she likes to imagine she has great puntential, though)
