12 TV Reboots You Didn't Know Were Coming

4. Bewitched

A real blast from the past this one. The original Bewitched aired between 1964 and 1972, and while reruns did see it stick around on TV for substantially longer, it’s unlikely many fans of the original fall into the target audience here.

Instead, it’s clearly a reboot aimed at ensnaring an entirely new generation, and has been suitably reinvented to fit this new era of Bewitched. The show was previously remade in 2005 movie, but that received scathing reviews, with Nicole Kidman’s performance the only redeeming factor. That too, is unlikely to be of much influence on the 2020 reboot.

Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and producer Yamara Taylor are at the helm for this one, and it’s set to centre around an interracial couple. Casting is yet to be revealed, but we know Samantha will be a hard working, black single mother (and witch), who ends up marrying Darrin, a nice but pretty aimless white guy.

Names are staying the same then, but it does appear that the dynamic is in for a considerable 2020 shake up. The single camera sitcom format is staying though, so it’ll be interesting to see how everything goes.
