12 TV Shows That Were Cancelled Way Too Soon

8. Deadwood

Not just a Western, but a HBO Western. That meant it had a big budget, morally complex characters, played by stars Ian McShane and Timothy Olyphant, and a lot of swearing. While it was the latter reasons that won the show a legion of fans and a host of Emmys during its three-season run, it was the first one that meant it didn€™t go beyond there.

While now they are happy to lavish unprecedented sums of money on their shows, it was more of an issue back then. Plans were initially mooted for a shorter fourth season, which in-turn became the development of two TV movies. In the end it was scrapped altogether, leaving a lot of viewers disappointed that they never got to see more of the town of Deadwood. There€™s been talk at various points of a revival, but ultimately they haven€™t amounted to anything, and don€™t appear to be anytime soon.
