12 TV Shows You Won't Believe Are 10 Years Old In 2015
6. The Jeremy Kyle Show
What did people used to watch when they had a weekday off and absolutely nothing to do with their time before The Jeremy Kyle Show arrived on our screens in July 2005? It is now the archetypal go-to trash TV programme when you have nothing better to do with your time simply because it is highly watchable - families, friends and lovers arguing on TV about sex, drugs and alcohol, before invariably facing the lie-detector test, is something that is extremely easy to view without really requiring you to pay any attention to it. Kyle's own past issues with gambling are sometimes brought up by his guests which adds an extra intrigue to the programme - but the host himself always aims to focus the debate (or more-often-than-not argument) around the children who are affected by any of the problems being discussed. The ITV programme has aired more than 2,200 episodes in the UK - and it even produced an American version of the show in 2012 that was quickly cancelled - and the British original is unlikely to end anytime soon, such is the strength of its stranglehold on mid-morning weekday ratings.
