Yes the Late Late Show had already been hosted for 10 years by Tom Snyder and then Craig Kilborn before Craig Ferguson received the reins in January 2005, but it took on a whole new dynamic when the Scot arrived on the scene. Not only did Ferguson achieve the show's highest-ever ratings during his time as host, he was also assisted by his robot sidekick Geoff and a pantomime horse named Secretariat as he satirised the Late Night Show concept. The majority of the 2,058 episodes were comedic in nature and parodied the make-up of the Late Night show concept, although occasionally Ferguson dealt with more serious issues such as the death of his parents or by interviewing Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and it was this variation that kept the punters coming back. James Corden has since replaced Ferguson as host, but it is incredible to think the Scottish-born comedian took control of fronting the series a full 10 years ago.
