One of this season’s most engaging characters, Tyler found himself at the centre of just about every major storyline that crept up. And, given that it began by reflecting on last season’s cliffhanger (in which he showed up at Liberty High with guns), that made sense.

Tyler’s story this year was perhaps the show’s finest example of character development as, over the course of the 13 episodes, he evolved from a terrified outcast sick of suffering at the hands of school bullies that very nearly crossed a line, to a confident young man who was no longer afraid and, in the process, made some genuine friends.

Speaking of which, his friendship with Clay turned out to be one of the show’s most endearing and produced a number of Season 3’s strongest moments. And it was this wonderful pairing that ultimately helped Tyler find the happiness and acceptance he had longed for.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without Devin Druid – who turned in a performance that was nothing short of award-worthy.
