13 Worst TV Shows Of 2017
6. Doubt
A legal procedural-cum-soap opera starring the thoroughly unlikable Katherine Heigl? Not exactly a compelling hook from the outset, it has to be said.
Doubt does benefit from a more affable cast elsewhere, including the talented Dulé Hill, Laverne Cox and Dreama Walker, but the entire show is so aggressively smothered in contrived subplots that it's just hard to care about anything going on.
It's too much of a muchness, as the saying goes, and though Heigl does fare slightly better than expected as the hotshot legal lead, the material still feels like the generic younger sibling of so many superior legal shows airing both past and present.
Hilariously, CBS showed an embarrassing vote of no confidence by cancelling Doubt after just two episodes had aired, citing low ratings before burning the remaining 11 completed episodes off over the summer.
