15 Best Sci-Fi TV Shows Of The 2010s
10. Legion
Legion may be inspired by the eponymous Marvel Comics character, but it doesn't really fall into the realm of superhero television because, truth be told, it's nothing like a superhero series.
What set Legion apart from the rest in an otherwise crowded landscape was how heavily it leaned into the science fiction and psychological thriller territories instead of going down the usual hero-saves-the-day-on-a-weekly-basis route, as protagonist David Haller - played by the brilliant Dan Stevens - takes us on a psychological journey, forcing us to question what's real and what isn't along the way. And the writing is so clever that it even made us question Haller himself.
Outside of all that, the mutants attempt to evade the government agency that is hunting them, Division 3, while Hall fought his battles in his own head - and all of that was what ultimately made it such a compelling watch.
Though it ran for three moderately successful seasons between 2017 and 2019, Legion really doesn't get enough credit for the masterful tale it told.
