15 Best Sci-Fi TV Shows Of The 2010s
8. The Man In The High Castle
The best science fiction shows are those which dare to make us think, and if there's one show on this list that is in a complete league of its own when it comes to doing that, it's gotta be The Man In The High Castle.
'What if?' is the basis upon which this very genre was built, and the Amazon series asks the mother of all questions: What if the second World War had turned out a little differently than it actually did? And the beauty of that question is that we aren't the only ones asking it, as the characters in the show also find themselves faced with that very one.
Based on the 1962 novel of the same name, the show is set in a parallel reality in which The Axis powers had won World War II, dividing the United States of America into the Greater Nazi Reich (in the east) and the Japanese Pacific States (in the west). However, as the characters struggle in this brave new world, some of them come across home video footage and newsreels of an alternate reality in which Germany and Japan didn't win the war.
A gripping watch from start to finish, The Man In The High Castle's respectable four-season run is a thrilling, thought-provoking ride.
