The longest-running Marvel cartoon to date, X-Men: The Animated Series is celebrated for adapting some of the best story arcs and characters in the X-Men's long history. Its success paved the way for future Marvel cartoons, and it is considered to be the greatest X-Men animation of all time. For the first time ever, viewers were treated to an American superhero cartoon which had a continuing narrative throughout several episodes. The show lasted for five long series' and episodes consisted of storylines such as the great Dark Phoenix Saga, and Days of Future Past. It was a massive hit amongst many, and it helped to make the X-Men even more popular. Thankfully, the cartoon was put together rather well for its time, featuring a solid voice cast, a flowing narrative and an overall resemblance to the designs of the 90s X-Men comic. X-Men: The Animated Series was wholly enjoyable for all ages, and it sported an amazing opening sequence. It also defined some of the characteristics and voices for most of the X-Men, especially Wolverine and Beast. Sadly, for a cartoon which is regarded as being one of the best comic book animations ever made, X-Men: The Animated Series had a tremendous dip in quality during its fifth season. It petered out towards the end, but X-Men: The Animated Series should be recognised for its many accolades...'bub.
