Having been first announced in early 2022, It: Welcome to Derry has finally wrapped production and will premiere at a to-be-confirmed date later this year.- with the series now set to air on HBO despite previously being planned for the Max streaming service.

Welcome to Derry plot specifics aren't known at this stage, bar that the show will serve as a prequel to Andy Muschietti's pair of It movies and will have Bill SkarsgĂ„rd back as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. As for the rest of the cast, Babylon's Jovan Adepo, Gotham's Chris Chalk, Zola's Taylour Paige, and beloved veteran James Remar are some of the names on board in key roles.

Andy Muschietti is behind Welcome to Derry, teaming once again with his sister Barbara Muschietti and It Chapter Two producer Jason Fuchs to develop this nine-episode debut season. If all goes well, the plan is for the series to span three seasons, starting with a 1962 setting for the first one.
