20 Funniest Moments In British Comedy

10. Modern Mother - French And Saunders

The Show: "Underrated" is a term that gets thrown around a lot - usually wrongly - but, in the case of French and Saunders, it's entirely justified. Ask anybody over the age of 30 what their favourite comedy show is and a grand total of zero will say French and Saunders. However ask any British comedian working in satire today, and they'll wax lyrical about the groundbreaking work done by two women in the late 80s. Taking aim at everything from style, music, politics, and life in general, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders were able to lampoon it to within an inch of its life.

The Setup: Taking a look at the notion that all generations immediately reject the values of their parents (and, ergo, that the next generation of children would all grow up to be absolutely awful) the Modern Mother sketch is a reference to selfies away from being eerily prophetic.
