20 Funniest Moments In British Comedy

7. Ex-Parrot - Monty Python

The Show: There's almost nothing that can be said about Monty Python that hasn't already been roundly eulogised by any and everyone connected to comedy over the last 40 or so years. While almost nothing about the show seems too out-of-the-ordinary in 2015, taking these themes and ideas and ramming them into the nation's living rooms by way of the BBC defied belief at the time. Comedy then was jokes about your uncle hitting his head on a ladder, and the Python boys took no prisoners in completely changing the comedy landscape forever.

The Setup: A man has bought a parrot. The parrot is dead. (Incidentally, John Cleese appears to be playing Russell Brand, somehow).
