Philip K. Dick is widely regarded as one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time, and his works have been crafted into a number of successful films, including the likes of Blade Runner, Total Recall, and Minority Report. Most recently, Amazon adapted his Hugo Award wining The Man in the High Castle into a TV series - and its success has them hoping to repeat the trick.

They've purchased the rights to produce Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, an anthology series based on various works by the author, created by Bryan Cranston and Ronald D. Moore (Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica).

There's no word yet on who'll star,, but writers for the series will include Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, David Farr (The Night Manager), and Moore himself. Similarly, there's no word on what stories might be adapted, but it could include retreads of some we've already seen on screen, or unadapted tales such as VALIS or Eye in the Sky.

Whatever they choose, it has the potential to be an anthology in the vein of something betweenThe Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, which sounds very promising indeed.
