The Brigadier, first seen in the 1968 Second Doctor serial The Web of Fear, is one of the most iconic characters in Doctor Who history who aided the Time Lord throughout countless of his regenerations. The man who played him, Nicholas Courtney, sadly passed away in 2011 but the show took the time out to pay homage to him in its own special way during last year's series finale... by bringing him back in the form of a Cyberman. At least the Doctor finally got to give him the salute he'd always wanted.
