David Soul appeared in The Apple, an infamous episode of The Original Series. He played Makora, a highly curious member of the Children of Vaal. He is of course best known for his portrayal for being the 'Hutch' in Starsky & Hutch, a role he played for four years (not including his cameo in the Ben Stiller-led remake).

Soul had a long career in front of the camera, as well as a musical career. He recorded the track Don't Give Up On Us, which reached number one on the Billboard Top 100 in 1977.

Soul worked steadily in film and television, and enjoyed more musical success before he relocated to the UK in the 1990s. There, he returned to the stage and quickly established himself on the West End. He would remain in the UK for the rest of his life, making more television appearances on shows in Britain.

Soul struggled with alcoholism during his adulthood, entering rehab to help get sober, and had been a heavy smoker for years, though stopped several years before his death. Despite quitting, he suffered from COPD and had a cancerous lung removed. He was 80 years old when he passed away in London.
