5. Star Trek, Space: 1999 & The Alien Franchise - The Giant Intergalactic Scrap Heap In The Sky

Red Dwarf Psirens Moving on to Red Dwarf season six and we have evidence that not only does Doctor Who exist in the same universe but so does a little franchise called Star Trek. In the episode Psirens, Lister and his crew, now relegated to Starbug, fly over a planet full of spaceship debris. Among the wreckage a Klingon bird of prey from Star Trek can clearly be seen, along with an eagle ship from Space: 1999 (an alternate reality perhaps?) and a Weyland-Yutani ship from the film Aliens. Yes... Xenomorphs exist in the same same universe as Daleks and the Borg. Is your mind suitably blown? You'll never suspect what comes next...
