25 Most Hotly Anticipated New TV Shows Of 2020

13. Monsters At Work

Mike Monsters Inc
Pixar

Continuing on from the Pixar classic Monsters, Inc., this Disney+ series premiering in 2020 is set six months after the original 2001 movie (does that make it a period piece now, nineteen years later? Billie Eilish wasn't even born back then).

Billy Crystal and John Goodman are back as the voices of Mike and Sulley, and the series features newcomer Tylor Tuskmon, played by Ben Feldman. After the events of Monsters, Inc., the monsters energy crisis has been solved - they now harvest children's laughter instead of their screams, which of course involves a whole new business model.

Tylor is a mechanic who dreams of becoming one of the new jokesters and idolises Sulley (the new CEO of Monsters, Inc.) and his partner Mike. It's a little unclear how much narrative mileage there is in monsters making children laugh, but Pixar don't usually make false steps when it comes to storytelling, so they've earned a leap of faith.

With Kelly Marie Tran and Henry Winkler joining the voice cast from the films, Monsters At Work has the potential to charm adults and children alike - and it's only the second time a Pixar property has been turned into an animated TV series, so it could open the doors for more. An Inside Out TV show, anyone?
