2. Harry-O (1974-76)

David Jensen, formerly known as Dr. Richard Kimble on seminal series "The Fugitive", returned to network TV in 1974 as Harry Orwell, a city cop who was forced to retire after getting shot in the back, and thus did what every self-respecting TV cop would in this situation: booze-up and solve crimes on his own. He lived in a worn-down beach hut and, contrary to his peers, rode the bus instead of chasing bad guys in a flashy sports car. Oh, and he sometimes banged next-door neighbour Farrah Fawcett, lucky bastard. He also ran into a plethora of now-famous faces, namely Kurt Russell, Martin Sheen, Jodie Foster and Adam Arkin among others. The show had decent if unimpressive ratings during its first season, barely enough to warrant a second one which was retooled with a different location and some cast changes. The move paid off and ratings increased significantly, yet by that time ABC was under new management and steered in a different direction. Harry was promptly bumped off by Charlie and his Angels, and an irate David Jensen swore off ever making a TV show again. Instead he did 2 miniseries before his death in 1980.
