7 Ideas For The New Arrowverse Show In 2020
2. Arrowverse Beyond
The latest season of Arrow was... weird? Uneven? Unfocused? Well, it was Arrow. A mishmash of things it wants to be and things that it actually is. However, the flash-forwards throughout the season were surprisingly interesting, even if the pay-off wasn't all that it could have been. The Star City of the future bolstered a strong Cyber-Punk aesthetic, interestingly flipping the expectations of the genre by having The Glades - a troubled and poverty-stricken area in Star City - be a source of walled-off sanctuary from the crumbling infrastructure of the rest of the city.
The world-building was fascinating, with the gaps of history between the present and the future feeding intrigue along the way. A series based on this world would be an excellent stepping stone for Arrow, following in the footsteps of Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond.
The protagonists of the show - Mia, William, Zoe etc. - are already well-established and well-liked successors to their vigilante parents. By connecting their heritage and legacies with new character dynamics, an Arrow Beyond would be able to honour the mother series of the universe without being stuck in its past.
