7 New Star Wars TV Shows That Are In Development

3. Lando

Darth Vader
Lucasfilm

Another show whose premise is easily identifiable from its blunt title, it was confirmed in December 2020 that Lando was in development as a Disney+ series.

While this Justin Simien-penned show will focus on the roguish Lando Calrissian, that's about as much detail as we have right now.

Seriously, all the info available on Lando right now is who'll be writing the series and which character will be the show's lead. It's not even be clarified yet which Lando Calrissian audiences will get. Will veteran actor Billy Dee Williams be back in the fold? Will Donald Glover pick up where he left off in Rogue One? Could we get a series that features both actors at different times in Lando's life? Could we even get an entirely different person playing Calrissian from here on out?

Given how the current belief is that Lando will premiere after Andor, Ahsoka and The Acolyte, it seems realistic to expect the Calrissian adventure to debut towards the end of next year at the absolute earliest.

Like Tales of the Jedi, it could well be that more Lando details are released at Star Wars Celebration later this month.
