7 Ways AMC Should End The Walking Dead

7. A Cure Is Finally Discovered

Although Robert Kirkman has always been steadfast in his decision to never delve into the origins of what caused the zombie apocalypse, the show has always flirted with the idea.

The first season, of course, ended with the heroes being given a crash course in what the mysterious virus does to its host (not that it helped them in the long run), and with teases of a much larger civilisation about to show up in season 9, an impending search for a cure wouldn't be out of the question.

Of course, while finding a cure after all this time, out of the blue in the final season no less, could be a little trite, it would also give the writers a definitive way to end the show. Likewise, with the world in the state it's in, even a cure wouldn't be a standard "happily ever after", and there's plenty of ways to get imaginative with a scenario where a cure works, but takes years to have any effect.
