2. They Wouldn't Survive In The Real World

Everything is nice when you see it on TV. The characters in most of the series have lives like yours and mine, but theirs seem much easier. Granted it's just a TV show and they can't put in it all the problems that most of us have to face daily. But in most of them you can understand the lifestyles that some of the characters had and based on it you can guess which of them would live some good lives if they were real. However you don't have the same feel with the characters in Friends. Ok, maybe Ross could survive in the real world but only if he doesn't behave like an asshole (something that he does quite often in the series) but in general most of them wouldn't possibly make it in the real world. Or at least they would be living miserable lives. If Chandler actually rejected the job I commented earlier if he was in real life he would have regretted in a matter of minutes. And there would be no point of return after that. Things like this are the biggest evidence that you can risk yourself to behave like that in the real world. If you actually tried to do things like that in real life, then I believe you soon realized what a mistake you did and you swore to yourself to never do something like that never again. But that's the point of life, to grow up and learn from your experiences. The characters from Friends never did that. But the biggest offender of them all has to be Phoebe. Again. Her radical viewpoints, mixed with a despicable personality, lack of interest in doing things that would help her to become a better person, how she never had a stable work in the series and when she had one she lost it because of some terrible decisions, and if we add her criminal records she either would have died of hunger, or she would have become a prostitute. She wouldn't be living the great life she was having on the series. She would be most likely a drug addict who lived in a horrible apartment in the ghetto.
