7. Weapons Of Class Destruction (Air Date: April 12th 2005)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4DHFwuG7xA It's no surprise that creator Rob Thomas decided to structure the feature film, in its writing and its promotion, around the relationship between Veronica and stricken, rich bad-boy turned anti-hero, Logan Echolls. The tumultuous relationship between the pair, whom find a mutual attraction in the midst of a million and one reasons not to stands, especially now, as the series' overall USP (unique selling point). It's what fans tuned into to see, every week. It's what a lot of them are tuning in to see again. The high point of this whole ordeal came upon, what you might call, its inciting incident. For the first 10 or so episodes of Season One, we saw Logan as one of Veronica's most constant antagonists, both literally (in smashing up her car) and emotionally (in the relentless verbal abuse he would throw her way). Come, then, a series of events that changed everything. Logan's mother disappears, supposedly committing suicide by jumping off a bridge. Horrified, Logan turns to Veronica for help, asking her to use her skills to prove it wasn't a suicide attempt. It was. Distraught, Logan can only thank Veronica for her help. In this episode, it all comes to a head when Logan, believing Veronica in danger, comes running to her rescue and physically assaults a man she was tracking- whom turned out to be an undercover cop. This cocktail of flaring emotions led to one of the most dramatic 180 degree turns, during a period saturated with 180 degree turns (24, Lost, etc.): Veronica and Logan went from bitter enemies to defiant lovers, culminating in their first kiss, attached above. The rest of the episode was naught too shabby neither as Veronica attempted to uncover a bomb threat at Neptune High so deadly that it necessitated the involvement of an undercover federal agent but it's the climax between Veronica and Logan that everyone remembers this episode for and rightfully so.
