8 Supporting Mad Men Characters Who Stole The Show

4. Michael Ginsberg

Mihcael Ginsberg Born in a concentration camp during the holocaust and then taken to a Swedish orphanage, only to end up in New York. For back story they certainly weren't missing anything with this young copywriter. Initially he comes across as arrogant and abrasive in his interview with Peggy, but changes his attitude when he meets Don to get a job at the company. There is friction between Don and Ginsberg over accounts including the Butlers Footwear and Snowball. Roger Sterling gets Ginsberg to do some other work for him in order to land the Manichevitz account as Sterling gets worried that himself has is losing business. Ginsberg is clearly a very talented copywriter, but for Don maybe he is too good to have someone underneath him. Despite talent Michael struggles to get his ideas through to the clients when he is given more responsibility following Peggy leaving the SCDP.
