8 Things Fans Actually Wanted From Game Of Thrones Season 8
2. Daenerys' Gradual Descent Into Madness.
Hands down
the biggest singular issue fans had with the last season of Game of Thrones was
Daenerys switch from hopeful leader, to murderous dictator. We had watched the Breaker
of Chains grow from humble beginnings and longed for the days that she would
sit victorious on the Iron Throne. Yet when Daenerys finally reached the golden
city, she was a shadow of her former self.
The descent into madness fueled by dragon fire was always a foreshadowed fate for Daenerys Targaryen. We had a flinch of doubt when she burned the Tully’s. A sting of anxiousness when she lost her first dragon. It was building, and it was going to get there, but while her madness was scaled at a two or three come season eight, she then spun the dial all the way to eleven.
Daenerys
fate wasn’t actually the issue, and it felt fittingly tragic, yet to take her
evolution at a steady pace to flooring it was too much believe – even for a
world filled with the undead and dragons. Had her storyline been given an extra
season, or perhaps even a few more episodes to evolve, it likely would not have
ended with the same level of backlash.
