8 TV Finales So Bad They Wiped Shows From Existence

1. How I Met Your Mother (2005 To 2014)

Game Of Thrones Dany Face
CBS

The essential premise of this series was an older Ted Mosby talking to his kids about how he met their mother. Future Ted, who never appears on screen but is played through voice overs by Bob Saget, talks to his kids while present Ted embarks on a series of adventures that should theoretically lead to their mom.

What fans find out in the finale is that Ted's wife and the kid's mom died six years before Ted's conversation with his kids started. He's essentially trying to get their permission to ask out his friend Robin. This ending required the relationship between Robin and their mutual friend Barney to also come to the end, somewhat out of the blue.

Many, if not most, fans were upset by this finale as it seemingly betrayed everything the show had been working towards without any build up.
