8 TV Show Reboots You Didn't Know Were In The Works

4. The Munsters

Perry Mason Robert Downey Jr
CBS

The Original: Just about everybody is aware of The Munsters in some capacity, whether they've simply heard the name, recognise the characters, or they grew up watching the show.

Though it only ran for a couple of years in the 1960s, it definitely made its mark; the story of a dysfunctional family of monsters trying to live normally has been used in everything from Hotel Transylvania to Being Human, and The Munsters' status as a popular classic makes it prime rebooting material.

The Reboot: NBC previously attempted to reboot The Munsters with disastrous results, so hopefully this iteration fares a little better.

In 2017, it was reported that late-night host Seth Meyers will be executive producing the new revival, which will change the setting of the original show from California to Brooklyn, NY, where the monster family will be trying to fit in.

The revival will consist of thirty-minute episodes and will use the single-camera format, a change from the original's multi-camera setup.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
