8 Unanswered Questions From Stranger Things Season 3
5. Was That Steve And Dustin Line Tragic Foreshadowing?
The newly forged friendship of Dustin Henderson and Steve Harrington was further developed this season, with Dustin and Steve joining the Scoops Troop alongside Steve's co-worker Robin and Lucas' young sister Erica. Numerous plot points introduced in the previous season were expanded here, such as Steve and Dustin's friendship and the introduction of Erica's character. However, there was a particular line of dialogue in one Stranger Things 3 scene that could spell eventual doom for the oddly-paired friends.
When Steve is retrieving the ominous vial of green goo as they are infiltrating the Russian base, he warns the rest of the group to stay back. All move away except for Dustin, who proclaims "if you die, I die." This could just be a throwaway line, but with the show's ability to foreshadow future events could this mean that eventually the duo could meet a tragic end?
It would be a terrible moment for audiences as they are fan favorites, but if Stranger Things has shown us anything with its most recent season, it's that it's not afraid of heartbreaking moments. If it is indeed foreshadowing it seems to be a slow-building hint of an event that could occur in the final season of the hit Netflix show.
