There's something about Doctor Who that makes all of its viewers feel like they're a TV critic but some take this more seriously than most. Enter 'The Critic'. It probably comes down to the fact that, as Peter Capaldi himself has rightly pointed out, the show feels personal to us all and as such all of its fans feel like it's under their soul possession. This isn't the case, of course, but the Critic genuinely believes that they have the right to rant and rave about what the show is doing right and wrong (usually there's a strong emphasis on the latter). What's more, they actually think their opinions matter, too. Let us tell you... they don't. Of course everyone is allowed to express their opinions because it's the 21st century and freedom of speech is a legitimate thing. It's when it's taken too far, as the Critic often does, and they're superior opinions are thrown in your face at every opportunity. You might mistakenly think a critic is a hater but don't be fooled. A critic is complaining about Doctor Who because they love it so much... apparently. Whatever gets you to sleep at night, folks!
