9 Unmissable New TV Shows Starring Doctor Who Actors

5. The Devil You Know

From one Pond, to another! It's been hard to keep up with Karen Gillan (whose return as Nebula in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy sequel has literally just been confirmed!) since she left the coveted realms of the Whoniverse behind her in 2012. Her career has been going from strength to strength with a plethora of lauded post-Pond performances under her belt, including her leading role in the 2013 supernatural horror Oculus and her praised portrayal of Eliza Dooley in the ill-fated ABC sitcom Selfie. In December she'll be returning to the big screen, this time alongside John Travolta, Ethan Hawke and Torchwood€™s very own Burn Gorman, as Ellen in a Western called In A Valley of Violence (because nothing says Christmas like cowboys, apparently!) but that's not the only project coming up on her already reputable résumé. The actress has just filmed her scenes for HBO's new provocative period drama The Devil You Know which is expected to air later this year. From the creator of Orange Is The New Black, the mini-series will focus on the Salem Witch Trials in 17th century New England and also stars comedian Eddie Izzard and Zawe Ashton, who Doctor Who fans will recognise as Journey Blue from Series 8's Into the Dalek.
