With each passing episode of five full seasons, Cheryl has become increasingly warped. The character who started out as an office oddball with a disturbing windpipe-centric fetish has steadily snowballed into the unhinged and occasionally volatile wild card we know and adore today. Vice saw her persona mutate once more as she transformed into country-folk singer Cherlene. Unfortunately, her bid for superstardom fell short, due to her own diva-esque tendencies, and the total incompetence of her publicity team. Her only real fan was Gustavo Calderon (the late President of San Marcos), and even though this shifted a good deal of her records (instantly pushing her debut to Platinum, in fact), theres not really much call for her to stick around in the industry. So where to from here? Will she readily abandon her short-lived career as a songstress of outlaw country, or does she still harbour a glimmer of hope that one day she will inspire Cherlenemania? In the Daily Beast interview, Reed has promised that Cheryl will once again return to a state of relative - ahem - normalcy, but how swift and smooth will this transition be? In addition, theres the far-from-insignificant matter of Babou. Will we ever again be treated to seeing our favourite spy bonding with the adorable fox-eared asshole that is Cheryls pet ocelot? We can only hope that hes not been turned into a rug yet, especially since his last appearance in The Limited resulted in one of the series funniest episodes to date.
