Sometimes, the more you want to make people forget something, the more they want it. That is definitely the case with the infamous X-Files episode titled Home.

The episode aired as the second one of the fourth season, and although it critically did well, there was a lot of backlash. The plotline revolved around an inbred family in the town of Home, Mulder and Scully are called to the town to investigate them after some neighbourhood kids find the body of a newborn baby in the land outside their house.

Fans were disturbed by the content of the episode, and although Home was one of the only X-Files episodes to start with a viewer discretion warning, people were in an uproar about such a storyline being shown on primetime. The episode was then taken off of the air, seemingly for good.

But this only made people want to see it more! The year after, FX ran an all-day marathon of the sci-fi series where fans voted on what episodes they wanted to see. Home ended up being the most popular request and FX were caught between a rock and a hard place, but ultimately chose to air it.

Where can I watch it: You can now finally watch Home on Disney+.

Lily thought it was about time she wrote Top Ten lists for people other than herself. She also owes her dog a lot of money so she thought it was about time to pay her dues. There is no tv show she likes that she hasn't seen at least twice.
