9 Stephen King Adaptations Coming To TV In 2020 And Beyond
7. The Eyes Of The Dragon
After a short seven years of development at Syfy, The Eyes of the Dragon moved over to Hulu in 2019 where it remains to this day.
This series will be set on one of King's first fantasy novels, another deviation from his better known horror work. It follows the royal family of the medieval land of Delain as the King's magician, Flagg, seeks to destroy the kingdom from within.
Flagg, an important character in the King universe, will be gracing our screens a few times in the coming years, not to mention his big screen portrayal by Matthew McConaughey in the incredibly poor The Dark Tower movie. Although there is no casting information thus far for The Eyes of the Dragon, maybe the King Cinematic Universe will begin with a recasting of McConaughey, or Alexander Skarsgård who is set to play him in The Stand, or maybe even Jasper Pääkkönen who would have portrayed Flagg in the now dead Dark Tower Amazon series.
This story has all the makings of a low-key Game of Thrones-esque mini-series and would do well at establishing characters and settings that come majorly into play in The Dark Tower, should we ever get a proper adaptation.
