Kazran Sardick was played by the late, great Michael Gambon.

A veteran of stage and screen, Gambon is easily one of the most high-profile actors to ever appear in Doctor Who. But sadly, according to the man himself, he sucked.

At London Film and Comic Con in 2015, the former head of Hogwarts said that he "wasn’t very good" as the Scrooge stand-in. "I tried hard, but I couldn’t quite get it", he went on to say, as the audience rebuked his claims.

Considering that A Christmas Carol regularly appears near the top of polls of the best Doctor Who Christmas episodes, Gambon really had nothing to worry about.

The outpouring of grief from Whovians following his death in September 2023 further cemented how brilliant he was in the show.
