Kathy Bates joined American Horror Story after the first two seasons of the show had already aired, with her first role on the anthology series that of serial killer Madame Delphine LaLaurie. Bates was incredible in the part, and was commended not only for her terrifying portrayal, but also for her comedic timing.

One of Coven's most popular storylines saw Queenie try to educate Delphine on life in the 21st Century, as the serial killer had been trapped in a coffin since the late 1800s. Unfortunately, Queenie was unable to curb Delphine's racist mind, so she sent the bigoted woman to hell where she would spend all of eternity alongside her enemy Marie Laveau.

With Bates confirmed to appear in Season 8, it's possible that we might get to see Delphine again. As the esteemed actress was not part of American Horror Story during the Murder House season, Delphine is the only character Bates could reprise for the crossover. So, unless the showrunners give Bates a brand new character, a return for Delphine is looking more and more likely.
