4. The Rubber Man

The Rubber Man is without a doubt one of the most iconic characters and images of the first season and if it wasn't for two men trying to spice up their love life, it would never have existed. During this scene, viewers believe that Ben is the man behind the mask, wearing the suit for Vivien as a way to revive their passion for one another. However, there are a few problems with this. How did Vivien not recognise that this man wasn't her husband? Based on Violet's age, the pair have been together for a long time and after around 18 years of marriage, you'd probably recognise the feel and the rhythms of your spouse in and out of the bedroom. When it was revealed that Tate was the one wearing the suit, this scene didn't become a moment of passion between a man and a wife, it became an uncomfortable realisation that Viv has unknowingly had sex with her daughter's boyfriend. Viewers aren't even sure if Tate is alive at this point but if he isn't a ghost, she has just had non-consensual sex with a minor. Either way, Vivien has just been raped in her marriage bed.
