American Horror Story: The Best Character Of Each Season So Far
1. AHS: Murder House - Tate Langdon
Tate Langdon's presence dominated American Horror Story's first season, and his actions in it continues to be felt through the show to this day.
Written as a sociopathic school shooter with a distant mother and non-existent father, Tate was a murderer, a rapist, a twisted romantic and an oddly endearing loner. Thanks to Evan Peters, he was undeniably an awful person, but also one who managed to gain sympathy from audiences.
From the moment he forms a bond with Violet Harmon to the reveal that he's the vile Rubber Man and the scene that shows how he died, Tate was a walking enigma whose tragic backstory and horrific actions helped cement AHS as one of TV's most talked-about new series.
Evan Peters may have gone on to play over a dozen different characters in the show's subsequent seasons, but none have ever been quite as effective as Murder House's Tate Langdon.
