11. Franklin Bluth

I don't know how or why Franklin exists, exactly, but it sums GOB up pretty well to say that he creates a fictional puppet character who excels in being nothing but an African-American stereotype and attempts to use him to break down racial barriers. Fans of the show would be the first to admit that GOB is the least right person to attempt anything of that sort. GOB originally conceived the foul-mouthed character in an attempt to make his magic act more "hip," though he also uses him to channel songs like "It Ain't Easy Being White" (from the album
Franklin Comes Alive) for purposes which cannot be accurately described. Bizarrely, everybody on
Arrested Development communicates with Franklin as if he were real, and not an extension of GOB's arm.
