Arrow: 12 Mind-Blowing Fan Theories You Won't Believe
10. Oliver Becomes Mayor of Starling
Starling City definitely has a problem with elected officials. In fact, just running for Mayor is essentially admitting to having a death wish, and if you are unlucky enough to be elected then you might as well sign the warrant there and then. Three seasons of the show have now aired, and three mayors have departed in a rather untimely manner. Mayor Altman was the first to go, killed by the Hoods to clear the path for Sebastian Blood to take up the position. He probably regretted that after realising he couldnt stop Slade Wilson from attempting to destroy the city, and ended up going the same way as his predecessor. Thats karma for you. Season 3 introduced us to Mayor Celia Castle, and killed her off at the end of the aptly-titled Suicidal Tendencies. Is this just a bit of a running gag now, or is the position cursed a la Hogwarts Defence Against The Dark Arts post? Or maybe its because its all setting it up for Oliver Queen to become the Mayor of Starling City in season 4. After all, he wants to put the Arrow suit away but still service the city, hes probably in need of a job by now, and he is vastly experienced in putting himself in mortal danger. Vote Oliver Queen?
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
