Episode: 2x05 – League of Assassins

Combatants: Sara, Quentin, and the Arrow vs. League of Assassins minions

What Happened: Sara’s past catches up with her as she and her father are beset by three minions of the League of Assassins in her clocktower base of operations. As this was back when members of the League of Assassins were formidable opponents who required more than a few boxing lessons to be defeated, even Sara’s fast-paced staff action wasn't enough for a win. With Quentin providing an assist with his handgun, however, the Lances handle themselves well until a minion lands a knocks Sara to her knees.

Fortunately, Oliver chooses this moment to zipline right through the face of the clock and join the fray. His arrival turns the tide, and the archer/assassin/officer combination allows the good guys to emerge victorious.

Why It Was Great: The ultimate failure of Sara’s plan to take out all three minions by her lonesome does not diminish the marvel of her stunts, performed in civvies that once again showcase Caity Lotz’s athleticism. Quentin gets in a good line when he takes out an assassin with his spare sidearm, and Oliver’s arrival combined with his theme over the soundtrack was pretty darn epic.

Winners: The good guys
