Arrow Season 4: 10 Characters Who Need To Appear

With Season 3 over, rumours are already circulating over Oliver's future allies and enemies.

While Marvel has been cornering the big screen superhero movie, the CW's television adaptation of the Green Arrow has been doing the same for DC. One of the show's key successes has been to introduce established comic book characters in original, and understated, forms. Over three seasons, a whole host of famous and not-so-famous comic book characters have been bought to life in a way that is both true to their origins yet fresh and engaging enough to appeal in a different medium and to a new audience. The adaptation of the more well known villains, such as Deadshot and Ra's Al Ghul, gave the show a string of major antagonists that were the perfect threat for Oliver Queen's alter-ego to deal with, quickly becoming the most believable, and impressive, live-action DC villains on screen. But by playing it light with the super-powers and pseudo-science, and focussing on some of the lesser-known characters in the DC universe, Arrow has even managed to make characters that were previously considered to be C- or even D-list criminals into credible threats. The success can be measured, among other things, in the birth of two spin-off shows; The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow. With old characters migrating to the new shows, the CW are going to need to bring in some fresh faces to the shared universe's flagship show. With Arrow already confirmed for a fourth season, here are 10 popular DC characters that could yet put in an appearance in Oliver Queen's future adventures.

Bonus: The Obvious One

With the Flash spinning out of Arrow, and both characters instrumental in the formation of new team The Legends of Tomorrow, it seems almost certain that Barry Allen will feature at some stage in the next series of Arrow. Whether it's in a single episode, a cross-over between shows, or an extended storyline, the Flash and Arrow are certain to cross paths again.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
