Arrow Season 7 Finale: 5 Ups & 3 Downs From 'You Have Saved This City'

3. Laurel's Redemption Comes Full Circle

Ever since Earth-2’s Laurel Lance, Black Siren, began appearing on Arrow, it was clear that she was destined for redemption. Well, in the Season 7 finale, that redemption came full circle as she returned from Earth-2 and, for the very first time, joined Team Arrow on the battlefield.

It’s one thing seeing Laurel as Black Canary 20 years in the future from now, but to see this former villain return to the same earth as a hero, and even defend Oliver's attempt to help his sister, was the final step that her redemption arc needed.

There was something incredibly fulfilling about seeing Katie Cassidy Rodgers once again don the Black Canary suit that, at one point in time, she wore regularly, as it reminded us that Laurel (it doesn’t matter which version) will always be the definitive version of the iconic superhero and, even more importantly, it righted some of the unforgivable mistakes that the show made back in Season 4.

There is no Black Siren anymore, there is only Black Canary.
