Batman v Superman v Doctor Who: 10 Heroic Connections

5. Christopher Fairbank - Nick/Fenton

Last year he became a flea in the ear of The Doctor as council jobsworth Fenton in graffiti-based chiller Flatline. And while he spent the majority of his time whining in character, the actor occupies a privileged place in The Dark Knight's movie history. As thug Nick, he was the very first onscreen wrongdoer to face the wrath of Michael Keaton's shadowy avenger in 1989. Dangled over the edge of a Gotham skyscraper he looked on terrified as Keaton gripped his lapels and rasped the immortal line - "I'm Batman!" - a scene that cemented Burton's genius in casting Keaton. Before Doctor Who, Fairbank also inducted future companion Noel Clarke to the bittersweet joys of labouring in the more domestic universe of UK comedy-drama Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
